Stage Two of the Moe Revitalisation Project is nearly complete. Latrobe City Council has worked to re-imagine the existing car park and old skate park in George Street, Moe turning it into a vibrant shared youth precinct and community open space. The precinct includes a modern skate park inclusive of a large open bowl, playground for younger children, barbeque and picnic amenities and a green lawn space for leisure, events and markets.

Project commencement details

The project commenced in December 2022 and took into consideration the Moe Rail Precinct Revitalisation Project master plan and the input provided by the community of Moe, especially in the design of the Youth Precinct.

The detailed design and construction of Stage Two of the project was guided by a Project Reference Group consisting of Moe community members, community youth representatives, and West Ward Councillors.

The official opening of the Moe Revitalisation Project will take place today, Thursday 28 September from 11am - 8pm and the community is invited to come along and see the exciting new space.

Mayor's exciting invitation

Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan, said the new space was designed to create a vibrant activity area for community members. "We invite you to head down to the official opening with your bikes, skateboards and scooters and have a look at an exciting new youth precinct and community open space."

"The official opening will feature skate workshops, scooter coaching clinics, demonstrations, competitions and prizes, making it a great day out for all. There will be food trucks and music throughout the day as well. I hope to see you there!" said the Mayor.
