Wild Harvest Seafood Festival returns to Mallacoota on 13 November 2022

A weekend of nautically-inspired festivities to celebrate the connection that this relaxed coastal village has with its ocean surroundings.

Returning at last after two long years of cancellations, the Wild Harvest Seafood Festival offers up succulent prawns, abalone and mussels plucked fresh from nearby shores, and a chance to sample lesser-known delicacies like whelks, periwinkles and samphire. This is your excuse to escape to the easternmost pocket of Victoria to the much-loved village of Mallacoota. Nestled on rocky shores and surrounded by a bountiful ocean, seafood is life here and has been for thousands of years.

Glamping packages

The weekend kicks off with the opening event, Whelk-Om Dinner, with a menu that puts misunderstood and underrated seafood centre stage. Saturday's Seafood Market is a hub of activity, with a collection of vendors offering up the freshest seafood, as well as arts and craft, beer and wine, and kids' entertainment to a background track of sea shanties that would make a pirate jealous.

There'll be fishing workshops, a pop-up outdoor cinema, bush food walks, rockpool rambles and a massive festival vibe coming from this small town with a big spirit.

This year, for the first time, you can camp out under the stars in style with Glamping Packages that combine a unique glamping opportunity with tickets to all the best Wild Harvest Seafood Festival events. Packages for 2 adults / family inc tickets to relevant festival events.

Whelk-om Dinner

A special dinner celebrating the lesser-known and underrated produce harvested from the wilds around Mallacoota. Menu by chef Stefano De Pieri of A Gondola on the Murray and chef, and Budawang Elder from the Yuin Nation, Noel Butler. Local wine and beer matched by wine writer, Max Allen.

Skippy and the Intruders on the Big Screen

Join us for a nostalgic night out at the pop-up outdoor cinema on the lawns of the Golf Club with a screening of pop-culture icon Skippy The Bush Kangaroo, which was filmed in Mallacoota in 1969.
