Bruthen Recreation Reserve gets $1.07M federal funding for major upgrades
Gippsland's Federal Member, Darren Chester, praises progress at Bruthen Recreation Reserve, supported by $1.07 million federal funding for upgrades benefiting community sport.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester says it's terrific to see the progression of works at the Bruthen Recreation Reserve as part of major upgrades. "Bruthen Recreation Reserve received $1.07 million in federal funding for upgrades, which includes improvements to current facilities and the addition of new amenities to increase accessibility and promote the development of community sport," Mr Chester said.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester met with Brenda Streeter from the Bruthen Recreation Reserve Committee of Management to see the progression of works as part of the Reserve's major upgrades
Netball expansion benefits
Mr Chester said, "The project will also include the construction of a second netball court to accommodate the expanding club and encourage more women and girls to play netball in our community, promoting healthy, active lifestyles.
"Bruthen is a growing community, with the recreation reserve serving as a central hub for a wide range of activities. This work wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of local volunteers, and it's fantastic to see the recreation reserve improving each year," he said.
