Snap Send Solve - Solver of the Year Awards has named Baw Baw Shire Council the 2023 Inclusive Excellence Award winner for Victoria.
Community problem-solving app Snap Send Solve has today announced that Baw Baw Shire Council is the winner of the Inclusive Excellence Award for Victoria in its 2023 Solver of the Year Awards. Snap Send Solve Solver of the Year Awards celebrate the outstanding efforts of councils across Australia and New Zealand to drive positive change in their communities in 2023.
The Solver of the Year Awards spotlight organisations making a significant impact in Australian and New Zealand communities. In Baw Baw, 1,666 residents sent 5,256 Snaps in 2023, showcasing community engagement
Council excellence recognized
Baw Baw Shire Council has claimed victory in Victoria for the Inclusive Excellence Award. This award is presented to the council that has the highest overall solve rate across the categories of Pavement and Footpath (damaged / general / overgrown vegetation), and Accessibility. Baw Baw Shire Council achieved a 94.20 per cent overall solve rate.
Over 500 councils across Australia were considered. The Solver of the Year Awards highlight the Solver organisations that make a notable difference to their local communities throughout Australia and New Zealand. In Baw Baw, 1,666 local Snappers sent a total of 5,256 Snaps in 2023, underscoring the impactful role that Baw Baw Shire Council plays in fostering community engagement.
Council commitment recognized
Baw Baw Shire Mayor Cr Annemarie McCabe said that this was an outstanding effort for council and demonstrated the commitment shown to fixing and listening to issues that pop up across the Shire. "We take our commitment to the community very seriously and our residents can rest assured that if they lodge a problem with council, we'll do our best to follow up and look into it."
"I encourage our community to keep making the most of this app, as it provides a simple and straightforward way for our community to report problems and is another avenue for council officers to keep on-top of what's going on across the Shire," the Mayor said.
