Mr Chester added, "The latest phase of the long-term project to upgrade one of our nation's most important food production regions will add to water savings and efficiency, improve environmental outcomes, and increase productivity for farmers."
"Southern Rural Water is managing the modernisation project with the Federal Government providing the majority of funding along with contributions from farmers and the state."
"Work will get underway in November 2022 and is expected to be complete by October 2023. This is a great next step in the project and the benefits will be felt in the Macalister Irrigation District and beyond." Mr Chester concluded.
