New and improved Bullock Island bridge will open to the community from Christmas 2022
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the new and improved Bullock Island bridge will open in time for Christmas.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the recent inclement weather had meant a delay in work but the wider and safer bridge would open very soon. "The team at Jarvis Norwood Constructions had the difficult task of replacing the old bridge while maintaining access to the island and facing very challenging weather conditions."
The new and improved Bullock Island bridge will provide access to pedestrian access to accommodate locals
Mr Chester said, "The new bridge has dedicated pedestrian access and is wider to accommodate locals, visitors and staff travelling to the island. I secured funding through the previous federal government for the project with East Gippsland Shire Council managing the work as part of a major redevelopment of Bullock Island amenities."
