Help shape the future of Omeo visitor economy with MTB Park completion, send your feedback by 30 May 2025
Omeo region businesses are invited to shape a tourism investment roadmap as the MTB Park nears completion. Complete the survey by 30 May to guide future economic development.
As the highly anticipated Omeo MTB Park nears completion, local businesses across the Omeo region are being invited to help shape the future of the district's visitor economy. A new project is now underway to capture current and future tourism and hospitality business needs, across Omeo and neighbouring towns, including Swifts Creek, Benambra, Cobungra, Ensay, Tambo Crossing, Bindi, Tongio Gap, and Cassilis.
Help shape Omeo tourism future - share your feedback to guide investment and grow the region's visitor economy. Closes 5 pm, 30 May 2025
Shaping Omeo's future
The local business community is being encouraged to complete a short survey before 5 pm, Friday 30 May, to help inform an investment roadmap that builds on the region's unique strengths and opportunities. Community consultation events will follow, including a pop-up session in Omeo (date and time to be announced).
This project aims to identify current gaps and opportunities across key sectors, including:
- Accommodation
- Food and hospitality
- Essential services (e.g. electricians, plumbers, builders)
- Retail and information services
- Visitor experiences and tourism attractions
- Other locally provided services
Insights gathered will inform the development of an Investment Prospectus - a strategic document designed to attract investment, support sustainable growth, and position the Omeo region as a vibrant destination for visitors and businesses alike.
Omeo growth blueprint
Next, we'll work closely with the local business community to develop the Investment Prospectus, highlighting the economic potential of the Omeo MTB Park. This will include:
- Priority tourism and visitor economy investment opportunities
- Data analysis, business case studies, and local business testimonials
- Regional insights including employment trends, opportunities, and challenges
This initiative is proudly funded by the Victorian Government through Emergency Recovery Victoria. For more information or to complete the survey, visit Survey - Omeo Tourism Ecosystem Project - Your Say East Gippsland page.
