Melbourne Food and Wine Festival returns to Baw Baw on 19 and 20 November 2022
The iconic Melbourne Food and Wine Festival returns to Baw Baw this November kicking off with The Village Feast.
The iconic Melbourne Food and Wine Festival returns to Baw Baw this November kicking off with The Village Feast, a weekend long foodies' celebration in Thorpdale showcasing the region's spectacular produce alongside the state's leading chefs, producers and entertainers. On the weekend of 19 and 20 November, The Village Feast will transform picturesque Thorpdale into a food lovers paradise, packed with snacking and drinking that showcases the produce of this incredibly fertile region.
The Baw Baw events are part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival's Regional Edition, which runs from 18 to 27 November 2022 across the State with support from Visit Victoria
Pop-up and events
There will be pop-up outlets from local and interstate talent including:
- Chef Danielle Alvarez (late of Fred's)
- Tasmanian author and chef Analiese Gregory
- A celebration of Gippsland milk with That's Amore and Gippsland Jersey
- Cakes by Mali Bakes
- Pub favourites at classic Art Deco watering hole The Travellers Rest Hotel
- Entertainment including Mia Wray, Grace Cummings and Dorsal Fins on the main stage
Also accompanying The Village Feast are four truly unique, one-off events:
- Embla x Hogget Kitchen, Hogget Kitchen, Warragul - Fri 18 Nov
- Gippsland Farmers' Grazing Brunch, Civic Park, Warragul - Sat 19 Nov
- Provenance, Fire and Wine by Alejandro Saravia, Thorpdale Town Hall, Thorpdale - Sat 19 Nov
- Wake Up with a Winemaker, The Village Feast pop up wine bar, Thorpdale - Sun 20 Nov
The Village Feast will be a ticketed event, with early bird, pre-sales opening from 10am on Tuesday 27 September and general public tickets available 10am Friday 30 September.
Events booking
The Village Feast website, in line with Baw Baw Shire Council's Economic Development and Visitor Economy Strategy 2022-2025, The Village Feast is one of the council's annual major events delivered in partnership with Destination Gippsland.
Destination Gippsland has also developed a Village Feast Weekend Itinerary to help festival goers plan their stay. The Baw Baw events are part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival's Regional Edition, which runs from 18 to 27 November across the State with support from Visit Victoria.
Take advantage of the event
Mayor Cr Michael Leaney said, "We are thrilled to welcome the internationally acclaimed Melbourne Food and Wine Festival back to Baw Baw."
"On the back of the highly successful Village Takeover event at Jindivick in March 2019, this year's celebration will showcase our region's renowned producers alongside some of the biggest names in hospitality across the country in the township of Thorpdale."
"As part of the event, I encourage festival goers to take advantage of the weekend itinerary on Visit Gippsland's website and consider extending your stay in the region." Cr Leaney said.
