Baw Baw community invited to join Early Years Advisory Committee application by 9 June 2023
Submit an expression of interest to join the Early Years Advisory Committee and help shape decisions on matters such as play spaces, kindergartens, and supporting development for children aged 0-3 years.
Community members who want to help inform and influence future council decisions are invited to submit an expression of interest to join the Early Years Advisory Committee.Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Annemarie McCabe says, "Advisory committees like this one play a key role in shaping council's decision making to achieve the best outcomes for the community."
Interested community members are encouraged to apply via email for the Early Years Committee until 9 June 2023
Join the committee
Ms McCabe said, "I encourage any community members who would like to help shape the future for Baw Baw's youngest residents to put their hand up and submit an expression of interest. It's a great opportunity to make a real difference."
The role of the Early Years Advisory Committee is to provide information and advice to council on Early Years matters in multiple areas including:
- Play spaces for children (indoor and outdoor)
- Occasional care
- All abilities facilities
- Playgroups and kindergartens
- Indigenous early years literacy and health
- Supporting development in the 0-3 years age bracket
The Committee must have a minimum of five members, with at least two councillor representatives and three to eight community members, selected based on their skills, equity, and diversity.
Submit an Expression of Interest
Interested community members are encouraged to apply via email to early.years@bawbawshire.vic.gov.au. The submission should include a letter outlining why they wish to join the Early Years Advisory Committee and detailing what skills or perspectives they can offer.
Including a current resume is optional, but encouraged. Expressions of Interest will be accepted up until 5 pm on Friday 9 June 2023. For more information visit Current Advisory Committee Vacancies page.
