The Meeniyan Community Garden will utilise the grant for their Friends of the Garden program, which provides workshops on social media and growing strategies.

Community garden improved
The Meeniyan Community Garden will use the grant to facilitate its Friends of the Garden program which offers skills-based workshops where participants will learn about using social media and other media to share garden updates and connect about growing strategies. "The community garden in Meeniyan is a thriving community hub and I am excited to see how this funding will help improve their already successful program offerings."
"I had the pleasure of visiting the garden recently and was impressed by all the obvious hard work that has been put in by the volunteers there and to hear about the programs already on offer. Local initiatives like these are a great way of building and improving social connections within our local communities." Mr O'Brien said.
Mr O'Brien said VicHealth's JumpStart! grants are currently closed to new applications, but new funding rounds and streams are expected to open later in the year. For further information or to register for the VicHealth e-bulletin to hear about VicHealth grant rounds as soon as they are announced visit VicHealth Funding page.
