Sailors Grave Brewing expands with new brewery, creating jobs and showcasing East Gippsland's heritage beers
Sailors Grave Brewing's new Dunetown Farm location boosts beer production to one million litres annually, creating 12 new jobs. Backed by over $2 million, it features a brewery, cellar door, and pop-up site.
Sailors Grave Brewing's new brewery is located at Dunetown Farm, a beverage and hospitality hub between Cape Conran and Marlo. The brewery will increase Sailors Grave's beer capacity from 250,000 litres at their old Orbost site to up to one million litres per year at the new location. The project has backed 12 new jobs at the brewery and will support up to 15 more positions when the cellar door opens later this year.

The cellar door features a barrel room, beer garden and pilot malt house to relax, enjoy and learn about the local Gippsland brewer. Sailors Grave Brewing offers a wide range of beers with ingredients that put East Gippsland's agricultural and maritime history on show. This includes the 'Apples Will Make Pyes' apple pie beer and the 'Sea Shanty' citrus beer that's made with local grapefruit and lemon.
The project is backed by more than $2 million investment from the Local Economic Recovery Fund. Sailors Grave has also managed a pop-up location at the Old Slipway in Lakes Entrance thanks to $562,000 from the government's Bushfire Recovery Regional Economic Stimulus and Resilience Grants. The funds supported the development of new public spaces to redevelop the Old Slipway with more places for people to come together to enjoy outdoor dining, live music and art gallery spaces.
