Helping Heather bring Christmas joy with her A Better Life for Foster Kids in Gippsland South
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O'Brien got to play Santa this week as he handed over the many wonderful gifts donated by local community members to Heather Baird of A Better Life for Foster Kids.
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O'Brien has joined several Gippsland businesses in hosting a Giving Tree at his office this year in order to collect gifts and financial donations for the charity to distribute to children in out of home care this Christmas. "I was delighted to be able to present Mrs Baird with so many wonderful gifts as a result of the generosity of our local community.

Mr O'Brien said, "I have no doubt that these donations will help put a smile on the faces of children in out-of-home care and their carers at Christmas and spread joy at what might understandably be a difficult time for these children."
Care for foster kids
Mr O'Brien said he was also extremely grateful to Mrs Baird and all the volunteers at A Better Life for Foster Kids for the work they do year-round to support hundreds of children in Gippsland who are in out-of-home care for a large array of reasons.
"Without the tireless efforts of volunteers like those at A Better Life for Foster Kids these sorts of toy drives simply wouldn't be possible. I also want to take this opportunity to thank the carers who open their homes and provide care for these children in their time of need." Mr O'Brien said.
