Danny O'Brien visits Gippsland South schools to discuss democracy and government
Danny O'Brien visits local schools as he is always impressed by the quality of students throughout South Gippsland.
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O'Brien headed back to school last week when he visited local students both old and young to discuss democracy and our system of government. Mr O'Brien said being invited to local schools is one of his favourite parts of the role as the Member for Gippsland South and he is never disappointed by the calibre of students right across Gippsland South.

Lifelong learning observed
Mr O'Brien said, "From the Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students at Longford Primary School, the Year 11 legal studies class at Gippsland Grammar to the Sale chapter of University of the Third Age (U3A) I was met with enthusiasm and inquisitive minds."
"They say that learning is a lifelong endeavour and I was certainly witness to this during my visits last week where I saw learners young and old keen to hear more about my role in Parliament and the government system as a whole." Mr O'Brien said.

Answering varied questions
Mr O'Brien added, "I was delighted to be able to make myself available to answer questions from the various cohorts which varied greatly among the age groups - the younger students far more interested in my salary and what kind of car I drive than legislative procedure!"
