Buln Buln Recreation Reserve gets $65,000 funding for upgrade from Baw Baw Shire Council Playground Renewal Program
Baw Baw Shire Council is inviting community members big and small to share their thoughts and ideas to help redesign a Buln Buln playground.
The playground at Buln Buln Recreation Reserve was identified for upgrade through council's Playground Renewal Program which ensures that the Baw Baw community has safe, fun places to play. Council will invest $65,000 to renew the play equipment at this popular sporting reserve.
The plan outlines the infrastructure programs and projects planned for delivery by council, the lists in the capital works projects that will be carried out during the 2021/22 financial year are classified by expenditure type and funding source
Community engagement
Before work begins, however, the council is asking community members and kids of all ages to tell us what features they would like to see included. The feedback received will directly impact the finished design, with works scheduled to begin mid-2022.
The Playground Renewal Program forms part of the council's Capital Works Program, which will see a $38.7m investment in Community Infrastructure this financial year. The Buln Buln Recreation Reserve will join three other playgrounds located in Longwarry and Warragul in getting a makeover as part of the program this year. Interested community members are encouraged to get involved by providing their playground design ideas on council's website until 5pm Monday 21 February 2022.
Providing safe place for kids
Mayor Cr Michael Leaney said, "If there is one thing we have learnt over the past two years, it is the importance of providing kids of all ages with a fun and safe place to play outdoors. That's why projects like the Playground Renewal Program are so important for the council to deliver for our communities right across the Shire."
"It's great to see the community getting involved in the design process for these projects and I'm excited to see what the community comes up with for Buln Buln." Mayor Cr Michael Leaney said.
