Project funding

With support from the Victorian government's Changing Places program, council was successful in obtaining a $110,000 grant to provide Baw Baw Shire's first Changing Places accessible change room with adult change tables and hoists as part of the expansion project.

This project is funded by a $6 million contribution from the Victorian government's Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program and the balance contribution from Baw Baw Shire Council.

Better service for growing demand

With the main contract now awarded and the finalisation of the contract documents underway, works can progress to source necessary labour, plant, equipment, expertise and materials required for the multi-million-dollar expansion project with construction timelines to be identified. To follow the progress updates on the project go to Warragul Leisure Centre Stadium Expansion.

Mayor Cr Michael Leaney said, "We're excited to progress towards the next steps on this significant expansion project. The existing Warragul Leisure Centre will be transformed into a modern, multi-use facility to better service the growing demand for indoor sports in Baw Baw Shire. We look forward to seeing the construction works come to life with support from Kubale Construction."
