Bass Coast community engagement review sessions for Community Vision, Financial Plan, Asset Plan and Council Plan 2025-29

Council's 18-month initiative will review and update key strategic documents: Community Vision, Financial Plan, Asset Plan, and Council Plan 2025-29, community engagement aims to gather insights to shape a sustainable future for Bass Coast.

Over the next 18 months, Bass Coast Shire Council will review and update four key strategic documents: Community Vision, the Financial Plan, the Asset Plan and the Council Plan 2025-29. This planning work enables council to balance competing community needs and make decisions that are fair for all as well as being required under the Local Government Act 2020.

Every four years, council develops strategic plans defining goals, strategies, and priorities for Bass Coast's future, seeking early community input to ensure shared vision and priorities

Community engagement launched

Council is excited to launch 'Our Bass Coast. Our Future' with a series of community engagement sessions to inform the development of these plans and we invite all community members to share their insights and help shape the future of our vibrant community. Involving the community at this early stage is critical to ensure these objectives represent the community's aspirations over the life of the plan.

The feedback council receives through community engagement will identify the priority focus areas for council over the next four years. It will help guide the organisation and highlight how we will work with the community, key stakeholders, and other levels of government to deliver on community aspirations.

It is important that the community feel heard, understood and that their input is reflected in the final documents. We want our community to feel proud of Bass Coast and this work allows them to help shape the future of our region," said Mayor Cr Clare Le Serve.

Resident input sought

These sessions are a valuable opportunity for residents to contribute their thoughts and priorities on a range of key topics. Questions at our engagement sessions will include:

• What is one thing you love most about Bass Coast?
• What aspect(s) of Bass Coast do you feel are most important to protect and preserve?
• What services should the council consider prioritising?
• What does your ideal future Bass Coast look like?
