Baw Baw Shire Council appoints Mr Ben Wood as Director of Community Infrastructure, bringing extensive experience in infrastructure delivery. Mr Wood starts on June 26, eager to make a positive impact in the region.
After an extensive and competitive recruitment process, Baw Baw Shire Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ben Wood to the role of Director Community Infrastructure. Mr Wood is a qualified engineer with leadership experience spanning over 30 years in a range of different industries. His roles have included consulting and capital delivery in both the private and public sectors. Most recently, Mr Wood served as Manager of Operations at Cardinia Shire.

Excited for council's impact
Acting CEO Leanne Hurst says, "Ben brings with him a wealth of proven experience and expertise leading large scale infrastructure delivery and maintenance. He is an inclusive, highly collaborative and humanistic leader with a track record for coaching, enabling and supporting staff to achieve great outcomes. We're delighted to welcome him to Baw Baw."
Mr Wood said, "I am excited to join Baw Baw Shire Council. Working in local government, our actions go beyond plans and policies. We have the privilege of witnessing the tangible impact our work has on people's lives. Personally, I derive a real sense of purpose and inspiration knowing that the roads we pave and facilities we build shape the environments where people live, where families grow, and where children learn and play."
