Great Southern rail trail

Council is keen to hear your feedback on the draft Great Southern Rail Trail (GSRT) Visitation and Marketing Plan. The Plan aims to set a direction to help elevate the status of the GSRT and increase recognition and visitation. You can provide feedback at Great Southern Rail Trail - Visitation and Marketing Plan page. The public exhibition closes on 2 June, 2022.

Affordable housing strategy

To help support South Gippslanders who find themselves in need of social or affordable housing, council have created a draft Social and Affordable Housing Strategy. This strategy highlights the opportunities we have at council to support more social and affordable housing, including advocating for services and supporting providers of social and affordable housing to invest in South Gippsland. You can provide feedback at the 'Social and affordable housing strategy' page. The public exhibition closes on 10 June, 2022.

Sport and recreation

Council is providing funding of up to $1,000 to help sporting clubs and recreation reserves to recover from the impacts of COVID-19. Applications will close when the $40k in funding has been exhausted.

Funding can be used to:

  • Promote community connection and social inclusion
  • Increase sporting and recreation opportunities
  • Help sporting clubs respond and recover from emergencies and disasters

Not-for-profit sport and recreation groups and clubs based in South Gippsland are encouraged to apply. To find out more - or to apply, please visit 'Sport and Recreation COVID Fund' page.

Get Techy, Get Ready!

To help residents understand what apps are a must-have during an emergency, our Emergency Management team has organised some sessions at local libraries throughout May. Request for tender

Council is seeking submissions from qualified companies/applicants for RFT/324 Leongatha Municipal Office Refurbishment. Tenders open Saturday 7 May and close 2.00pm on Tuesday 31 May 2022. Documentation is available from council's e-Tendering Portal, just visit eTender portal.
