Gippsland students can apply for up to $18,000 assistance via Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships (RRES) program
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester is encouraging local students needing financial assistance to apply for round six of the Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships (RRES) program.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the scholarships would help students from regional and rural areas complete tertiary education."There are many barriers that young Gippslanders face when completing tertiary studies and these scholarships are designed to provide financial support and help those who might not otherwise be able to afford to study," Mr Chester said.
Applications for Round 6 of the RRES Program are now open for those students commencing study in 2022, over 1000 scholarships are available this year, until fully allocated
Accessible education for young Gippslanders
Mr Chester said, "Higher education is an important step for young Gippslanders looking to further their education and it should be accessible to all no matter their financial situation. The scholarships of up to $18,000 support students studying remotely or needing to relocate."
"Students looking to undertake courses ranging from Certificate IV to PhD level are eligible and I encourage Gippslanders to check their own eligibility and apply." Mr Chester said. For more information, visit the regional scholarship page.
