Feedback wanted on discontinuing part of a lane way at rear of 8 Clarence Street in Loch by 26 October 2022
At the council meeting, councillors voted to start the process to discontinue part of a lane way at the rear of 8 Clarence Street, Loch.
This section of road forms part of a road reserve that is currently vacant and unused. It also does not appear on council's Public Road Register. A previous section was sold to the owners of 10 Clarence Street, Loch in 2021.
Submissions on 8 Clarence Street, Loch Road discontinuance must be received no later than 5.00pm Wednesday 26 October 2022 and be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer
Community feedback wanted
As part of the process, the community will have a chance to make a submission on the discontinuance. Submissions must be received no later than 5.00pm Wednesday 26 October 2022 and be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer.
Anyone who makes a submission is entitled to be heard in support of the
submission. If you or a representative wishes to be heard in support of the submission, you must state this in your submission.
South Gippsland Shire Council Mayor, Mohya Davies said, "The matter we voted upon today is procedural at this stage. Our vote has begun the statutory process to engage with the community to hear any feedback on the proposed discontinuance. From here, a community meeting will be organised to provide the community with a space to voice their opinion on the matter. I encourage community members to get involved."
