Learning more about technology

Mayor of Latrobe City, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said the programs would open a new world to participants. "Tech Savvy Series and Social Seniors are being held in the safe and welcoming space of the library. It is so important that older people, and those with little digital understanding, feel supported when they take the step to learn more about the internet, technology and social media."

"Small groups of participants will first learn the basics of each session in a supportive, friendly workshop. Afterwards, each attendee will partner with a library team member for some one-to-one assistance, practise and general guidance."

Keeping you connected

Mayor O'Callaghan also said, "Anyone can book into a session, and if you don't have your own device, we can provide one for you to use during the workshops. You can book for one, or all, of the sessions. You will be encouraged to ask as many questions as you need to."

"For those spending the holiday season away from their families, these workshops can help keep people connected through sending photos, video calls and social media messaging. At the end of the day, this program is designed to help you connect to the digital world at your own pace," said Mayor.
