Feedback wanted on Bass Coast Council Draft Asset Plan to achieve its objective aligning with community vision
Bass Coast Shire Council is calling for community feedback on its Draft Asset Plan that will end on Tuesday, 7 June.
The Plan identifies the infrastructure assets that council owns or manages, and informs the community on how these assets will be managed in the long term to achieve the council Plan objectives and align with the Community Vision statement. The Asset Plan considers how council plans to optimise life cycle costs of capital and maintenance across four major asset classes of roads and transport, buildings and facilities, open space and parks and stormwater drainage.
The asset plan document aims to inform the community on how these assets are to be managed, to achieve the council plan objectives and align with the community vision statement
Long-term benefit
Long term infrastructure renewal funding is allocated in the plan to ensure that levels of service expected by the community can be sustained in the long term, by council's ability to maintain and renew its infrastructure.
The plan highlights known challenges and emerging issues including social, economic and climate implications. It includes strategic improvement initiatives that link to the Community Vision and will be embedded in future workplans.
Council has prepared its Asset Plan as required by the local government Act 2020. The Asset Plan sits Alongside the Community Vision, council plan and long term financial plan and is intended to demonstrate a consistent message among the four documents. It will provide opportunity to engage the community and council through ongoing annual reporting including via council's annual report.
Send your feedback
For more information on the Draft Asset Plan or to provide your feedback, please visit Bass Coast Shire Draft 10 Year Asset Plan web page. The engagement period closes on Tuesday, 7 June. Comments and feedback received will be integrated into the Final Asset Plan, which will be considered for adoption at the council meeting on Wednesday, 15 June 2022.
