Omeo Mountain Bike Trail has first section now open and ready to help boost local tourism and outdoor activities
Local MP Darren Chester announced the opening of the Omeo Mountain Bike Trails, which were funded by all levels of government and will boost the region's visitor economy.
The first sections of the Omeo Mountain Bike Trails are now open for the public to enjoy. Local MP Darren Chester said the crew at Common Ground Trails had worked hard to get the sections open for bike enthusiasts to enjoy. "The community advocated for this project and it is an exciting time as they can now enjoy the trails," Mr Chester said.

Ready for action
Mr Chester said, "This project secured funding from all levels of government and this major project will help boost our region's visitor economy and help keep people active and outside. Well done to everyone involved in bringing this vision into reality."
The crew from Common Ground Trails has done a great job to get the first sections of the Omeo Mountain Bike track open to the public. Coming on top of the magnificent pump track, the town is going to become a Mecca for mountain bike riders of all ages.
The project was the inspiration of several local residents and former EGSC councillors Joe Rettino and Natalie O'Connell who lobbied me for support. We were able to secure funding from all levels of government and the first stage of this major project is now ready for action!
