South Gippsland Shire Council meeting update.

All community member questions for council meetings are to be written and submitted to the Council Business Team preceding the council meeting
Volunteer policy
Council revoked the Volunteer Policy C54 and will remove it from council's website. A council Volunteer Policy will be implemented as an internal policy to reflect its operational nature.
Economic prosperity
Planning Scheme Amendment C124 - Land Sales, Council adopted Planning Scheme Amendment C124 and will submit the amendment to the Minister for Planning for approval.
Council also resolved to write to all submitters to thank them for their submissions and will determine any funds remaining from the sale of 15 Old Waratah Bay Road, Fish Creek after costs will be considered for re-investment for open space in Fish Creek
Services and infrastructure
Leongatha Integrated Learning Centre
Council resolved to commence the community engagement process to lease the Leongatha Early Learning Centre to the Leongatha Early Children's Centre Inc. for an intinitialrm of five years. Full details of the lease are outlined in the council minutes.
Council resolved to give public notice in the local newspapers week commencing 21 March 2022 the proposal inviting written submissions from the community by 5.00pm Wednesday 20 April 2022.
Gardner Lane, Poowong
Council resolved to discontinue a section of Gardner Lane, Poowong to sell to adjoining land owners and will construct a new section of the lane. A report for replacement trees removed as part of the necessary works will be presented to the May Council Meeting.
Council discussed the nature of the sale to the adjoining landowner to facilitate safer loading of cattle to the abattoir. Council voted to seal the new section as community feedback received through consultation opposed the proposed gravel road but generally supported the sale of land and new construction area.
Customer focused
Delegations to Chief Executive Officer
Council resolved to delegate to the Chief Executive Officer the power, duties and functions set in the Instrument of Delegation to the Chief Executive Officer. This included an increase of the ordinary expenditure amount from $250,000 to $750,000
Financial Performance Report
Council received and noted the Financial Performance Report July to December 2021 and noted that there is no indication that a revised Budget is required for 2021/22.
Support and Expenditure Policy
Council adopted the Councillor Support and Expenditure Policy C51 and will publish it to Council's website.
