Wellington Shire council's domestic animal management plan is open for feedback
Dog and cat lovers, the council wants to hear from you.
Dog and cat lovers, we want to hear from you! We want to hear from pet owners about our new draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-2025. In addition to providing feedback about Council's plan to continue to provide professional, consistent and proactive domestic animal management and promoting responsible pet ownership, we want to hear your views about some possible changes.
Wellington Shire Council is reviewing its Domestic Animal Management Plan, please have your say by completing an online submission form in our website
Seeking community feedback
Specifically, we want pet owners to have their say about whether Council should consider a 24-hour cat curfew throughout the shire, requiring cats to be confined to their owners properties.
Also, we want to know from you if Council should review its current dogs on leash laws, which may include requiring dogs to be on a leash at all times in urban areas except for designated off leash areas.
You can view the plan and provide your feedback online via the Your Wellington, Your Say website. Hard copies of the plan are available at Council's offices in Sale and Yarram. Submissions can be mailed to us at PO Box 506, Sale 3850 or emailed via enquiries@wellington.vic.gov.au. Feedback closes Friday, 3 September.
