East Gippsland Shire Council thanks its health workers with a 'Thank You Day'
East Gippsland appreciation on the hard work and dedication of the frontliners.
Today we are marking the 'above and beyond' contribution of our local health care workers by declaring Thursday 4 November 2021 as East Gippsland Health Worker Thank You Day. Throughout the pandemic our community's health professionals have been taking care of us, comforting us, encouraging us and leading us, with one aim in mind - to keep us safe as individuals and as a community.
To all the hospitals, health and medical centres, pharmacies, bush nursing services, paramedics and health support services, please accept this as our sincere thank you, East Gippsland is thanking you!
Gratitude to the front liners
As we mark the 80% double vaccinated milestone in East Gippsland, and the freedoms that we are now starting to re-enjoy, it is timely to pause and say "thanks". To the frontline workers from nurses, doctors, pharmacists, paramedics, mental health and social workers, administration staff, and the hundreds of support staff and volunteers we are grateful for what you have done.
We appreciate how your families have often needed to compromise time together to ensure the health of our region. You have delivered the thousands of COVID-19 tests and vaccinations with care, compassion and patience, and for that we applaud you.
Celebrating health workers
To our community, well done on rolling up your sleeves, putting in place COVIDSafe measures in local businesses and looking out for one another. To celebrate our local health workers, today you may wish to share our public thank-you on our Facebook page, or write a letter or email to your local health service, paramedic, medical centre, pharmacist or bush nursing centre, or next time you see a health worker say "thanks".
