Simons Lane in South Gippsland construction and sealing begins 27 February 2023
Construction and sealing of Simons Lane from Ditchley Court towards Bass Highway will begin shortly.
As a result, the road will be closed to all through traffic from Monday 27 February 2023 to provide a safe working environment for the contractor undertaking the works. Residents of Simons Lane will have to access their property via South Gippsland Highway. This is stage one of a two stage project that will see this section of road go from gravel to seal, with a safer intersection with the Bass Highway next on the list.

Better South Gippsland
Kerryn Ellis, Chief Executive Officer of South Gippsland Shire Council said, "It is terrific to see works starting shortly on the Simons Lane reconstruction. While we understand any interruption is not pleasant, the end result will be much safer for our community and in the future, those that pass through our region. This is also another project in our Council Plan initiatives that we are getting on with to make a better South Gippsland for us all."
