New multi-million dollar ambulance stations in Moe and Warragul are state-of-the-art ambulance resources

The Andrews Labor government is boosting ambulance resources in Moe and Warragul, to make sure paramedics have the facilities and support they need to quickly respond to local emergencies and save lives.

Minister for Ambulance Services Mary-Anne Thomas and Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced construction is complete on two new state-of-the-art ambulance branches in Moe and Warragul. The new multi-million-dollar Moe Ambulance Station on Narracan Drive has a five-bay garage for ambulances and four rest and recline areas for hard-working paramedics to recuperate, while the new multi-million-dollar Warragul West Ambulance Station on Burke Street has a four-bay garage and four rest and recline areas.

New and modern facilities

Both new stations will start operating in November and provide paramedics with modern working spaces, training facilities, fully equipped kitchens and improved security and car parking. The locations of the new stations on Narracan Road in Moe and Burke Street in Warragul allow ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.

With both stations now complete, it brings the number of new ambulance stations delivered across the state since 2015 to 28, with another 12 ambulance stations under construction or about to be built - meaning more paramedics will be supported to deliver critical care to local communities.

Expanding paramedic workforce

Delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority, the new Moe and Warragul ambulance stations form part of the Labor government's $249 million to upgrade and rebuild ambulance stations.

Since coming to government in 2014, the government has expanded the paramedic workforce by more than 56 percent - with an increase of almost 2,000 paramedics.

New stations across the state

Minister for the Ambulance Services Mary-Anne Thomas said, "We know Victorians rely on the expertise, compassion and commitment of our paramedics. We also know that paramedics need modern workplaces and the latest equipment to stay safe at work and deliver the best care."

"The new Moe and Warragul ambulance stations will deliver just that, while also ensuring that life-saving emergency care is available to communities in the Gippsland community when an emergency strikes." Ms Thomas said.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said, "As our population across Gippsland grows, these brand new stations for our paramedics in Moe and Warragul will ensure that more patients get the care and expertise they need - they're two of 25 new stations we're delivering across the state."
