Annual rates notice for South Gippsland Shire residents are coming
South Gippsland Shire residents will soon receive their annual rates notice, supporting local services and essential infrastructure. Contact the council for assistance or information.
South Gippsland Shire residents can expect to receive their annual rates notice in the mail, or online, very soon. Rates help to provide services to our local communities such as Maternal and Child Health, playgroups, business support and sporting facilities.
The municipality collects revenue by levying rates on property owners or occupiers, striving for fairness based on property values using Capital Improved Value (CIV)
Supporting community services
This is in addition to the essential services that people are most familiar with:
- Roads
- Footpaths
- Parks and gardens
- Weed management
- Waste
- Recycling
You might not need or use all of the services at every stage or your life, but paying rates helps to ensure our local communities remain vibrant and well-serviced. If you have questions about your rates notices, please contact council's rates team. Payment plans and assistance is also available. For more information, please visit South Gippsland Shire Rates page.
