Inspiring future innovators
Wellington Shire Council joins major sponsor Lockheed Martin Australia, with Iberdrola, Regional Development Victoria, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, the Victorian Skills and Jobs Centre, and Gippsland East Local Learning and Employment Network to support the one-day, hands-on event.
Wellington Shire Councillor Liz Foat will sit on a panel of judges including representatives from Lockheed Martin Australia, with a winning school announced at the end of the day. "STEM education equips students with critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills to tackle real-world challenges like climate change and healthcare. It also drives innovation, and helps prepare for a rapidly evolving future."
"This great event will get our kids thinking about a STEM-related career, which is not only of benefit to the students, but to local industry," Cr Foat said. The event will take place at Gippsland Regional Sports Complex on Friday 13 June, from 9.30am until 2.30pm, with presentations expected to take place from 1.50pm.
