Free outdoor activities start for people of all ages across Baw Baw as part of 'Watch this Space' program
Destinations across Baw Baw Shire are being transformed into vibrant pop-up dining, activity and multi-use entertainment spaces offering a feast of free events for people of all ages to enjoy.
Baw Baw Shire Council's new outdoor activation campaign, Watch This Space, is set to take over the towns of Warragul, Drouin, Yarragon, Trafalgar, Noojee, Neerim South and Longwarry to support local businesses and promote COVID safe dining experiences and events for the community.
Through the funding received from the state government's COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund 2021 council will be activating outdoor spaces in 8 locations across Baw Baw Shire from February until June 2022
Jam-packed events and entertainment
Marquees, tables and chairs have begun popping up in parks and picnic spots throughout the Shire, creating more outdoor dining spaces and providing exciting new experiences for residents and visitors. Throughout the coming months these spaces will host a smorgasbord of free music, entertainment and activities catering to people young and old.
The community can look forward to a jam-packed schedule of events and entertainment, starting on the lawns of Drouin and Warragul's Civic Parks featuring the following local businesses: Warragul Wellness Centre & YMCA, Yoga Life, Challenge Yourself PT and Complete Health PT.
These businesses will treat the public to free:
- Pilates
- Yoga
- Bootcamp
- Beginners movement
- Tai chi outdoor fitness classes
Bookings are not essential. Simply check out the timetable on council's website, grab your yoga mat and turn up.

Those looking to explore the takeaway options available within the Shire are encouraged to visit Baw Baw Eat and Explore - a platform to connect diners with local eateries and hidden picnic spaces throughout the region. It showcases a range of food businesses in Baw Baw Shire as well as nearby popup venues to enjoy your meal.
With more events in the pipeline across the next three months, the community is invited to Watch This Space for more to come! Council's Watch This Space outdoor activation program is entirely supported through the state government's COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund 2021 and will run until June 2022. Supporting local businesses
