East Gippsland gets $37,000 grant for optimising 'Kerbside Organics Project' to support circular economy initiatives
East Gippsland Council is excited to receive a $37,000 grant from the Victorian government for our Optimising Kerbside Organics project, partnering with East Gippsland Water to compost green waste and biosolids.
We are pleased to have recently received a $37,000 Circular Economy Organics Council Fund grant from the Victorian government through Sustainability Victoria. This will be used for our Optimising Kerbside Organics project. We are partnering with East Gippsland Water on this project to compost green waste and biosolids. The compost will be used at our parks and facilities.
The Circular Economy Organics Council Fund helps local governments enhance the use of recycled kerbside organic products in community and council projects across Victoria
The goal is to complete a compost batch trial, which will produce different mixtures of products. We are proud to support Victoria's transition to a circular economy through composting the community's waste and creating a valuable compost soil. This soil will be used throughout East Gippsland in our native community plantings, creating beautiful spaces for all to enjoy. More information on the fund is available on the Sustainability Victoria website.
