Wy Yung basin started liner and cover replacement, uncovering clay subgrade reveals unexpected repairs, extensive material removal
Wy Yung Basin renovation
Exposing the clay subgrade has allowed us to undertake detailed inspections that have confirmed we will need to undertake some repairs. These repairs were not anticipated, but are necessary in preparation for the installation of the new liner.
We will need to remove a large amount of material that will need to be transported off site for disposal. This will involve increased truck movements to and from the site. We expect to begin this civil work in the next few weeks.
Once all the necessary material has been removed, new material will be installed and the clay subgrade prepared. Upon completion of these works, the new liner and cover will be installed.
Extended working hours
Due to the additional works necessary to repair the clay subgrade, the contractor, Fabtech, may need to undertake works during the hours of:
- 7am to 8pm weekdays
- 9am to 8pm weekends
These extended working hours are to ensure the project is completed on schedule.
