South Gippsland successful applicants celebrate Community Grants Presentation of $220,000 funding from 2021/22
Council held the first Community Grants Presentation in two years due to COVID-19.
During the night, successful applicants were celebrated for 2021/22 rounds one and two - a total of 44 projects with 15 from Round One and 29 from Round Two. Over $220,000 was allocated to these projects. The Community Grants Program aims to support community initiatives, projects and events that support the South Gippsland region.

Community grants program
Community Grants are accessible by community, volunteer and not-for-profit organisations in the following categories:
- Minor and Major Projects and Equipment
- Planning and Development Reports
- Festivals and Events

Making the region better
South Gippsland Shire Council Mayor, Mohya Davies said, "The Community Grants program is the most direct way that council supports our community to pursue their projects."
"While over $220,000 was allocated to the successful applicants, I believe it is much more than that. In total, these projects contributed over $1 million directly into our local community, but it is about more than the dollar amount - the impact these projects have on our community cannot be quantified."
"I would like to congratulate once again the successful applicants of the 2021/22 Community Grants program and encourage you to spread the word about the program. It takes a lot of time and effort to apply, but the work that is done because of these funding opportunities makes our region better." Mayor Davies concluded.
