Skilled migration workshop to better support business in Latrobe City has information session on 7 December 2022
Latrobe City Council in partnership with Regional Development Victoria is hosting a skilled migration workshop this December as part of the Skilled and Business Migration Program.
The skilled migration workshop will cover details of the State Nominated Skilled Work Regional visa, which allows for local employers to support a pathway for eligible skilled workers from overseas, or on temporary work visas, towards permanent residency. An allocation of 2,400 visa places have been made available for the 2022/23 program.
Local businesses and employers who are interested in retaining or recruiting migrant employees are also invited to attend the Regional visa-subclass 491 Information Session
Join the workshop sessions
In response to businesses being unable to fill vacancies and to address workforce shortages, local businesses and employers who are interested in retaining and recruiting skilled migrant employees are invited to attend the session.
The workshop will be held on 7 December from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Gippsland Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon. Registrations are available through council's Eventbrite. 'State Nominated Skilled Work Regional visa-subclass 491 Information Session'.
Opportunity for small businesses
Mayor of Latrobe City, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said the workshop was another way that council was helping the local small business community and an opportunity to welcome regional migration in Latrobe City. "Council is committed to welcoming new community members to our City while supporting our local economy and businesses."
"This workshop is a great opportunity for our local business sector to learn more about skilled work visas and how they may be used to bring a larger workforce in to help their operations and growth. We look forward to the workshop and encourage interested businesses and employers to register through Eventbrite to secure their place," said the Mayor.
