Michael Wandmaker joins East Gippsland Water as Managing Director from 1 July 2024
East Gippsland Water announces Michael Wandmaker as the new Managing Director following a rigorous selection process. With vast experience in water management, Michael joins from Melbourne Water, set to begin July 1, 2024.
East Gippsland Water is pleased to announce that after an extensive recruitment process that attracted a number of high calibre applicants, Michael Wandmaker has been appointed as their new Managing Director. Therese Tierney, Board Chair, said "We are delighted that Michael is joining the organisation. He previously spent seven years as the Managing Director of Melbourne Water and has extensive skills and experience in the water sector and will be known to many in the industry."

Experienced leader joins
Therese Tierney said, "Michael brings a breadth and depth of leadership and operational experience at the Chief Executive/Managing Director level having worked globally and nationally in both public and private industry. He is an experienced senior executive with a strong track record of successfully building and implementing corporate strategies to deliver operational excellence and effectiveness in complex asset-intensive organisations."
"Graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical and Computing, Michael is also a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers and qualified as a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD)."
"This will provide a depth of management knowledge and experience to complement our skill-based Board and management team. Michael will be a great asset to East Gippsland Water and we are looking forward to working with him," Therese said. Michael will commence at East Gippsland Water on Monday, 1 July 2024 and he is looking forward to living and working in East Gippsland.
