Culvert extension works will be carried out at Wreck Creek in Inverloch, where the creek passes under Surf Parade. Construction is expected to start in late July and take up to three weeks to complete. This $80,000 project is being full funded by Council, through its 2020/21 Capital Works Program.

Culvert upgrade

The aim of this project is to renew the culvert structure and provide protection from erosion to the road at this location. The project will include the extension of the downstream (south side) triple culverts, as well as the installation of a new headwall, rock beaching and minor vegetation removal.

Minimised disruptions

A temporary dam will be put in place on the downstream end of Wreck Creek, while the works are being undertaken. This will ensure that the existing water ponding will remain and ensure environmental flows and conditions are maintained.

Traffic and pedestrian measures will be in place throughout the duration of the works. Road users may experience minor delays and may wish to seek alternate routes during the construction period or plan your trip accordingly. Every effort will be made to minimise disruptions.
