East Gippsland Council calls communities to help create emergency response plans called a Local Incident Management Plan (LIMP)
Preparing local communities for emergencies particularly on knowing what to do during fire and storm hits.
Council is calling on local communities to prepare for potential emergencies by creating an emergency response plan, called a Local Incident Management Plan (LIMP). The LIMP model helps communities plan for potential emergencies, with support provided by East Gippsland Shire Council's Emergency Management Team.
Local Incident Management Plans and Municipal Emergency Management Plans have a number of plans that help us prepare for emergencies and respond to them, these plans can also be viewed at our Customer Service or Outreach Centres
Emergency preparedness
Local Incident Management Plans ensure residents and visitors in a district know where to go, what to take and what to expect if a major incident affects the area. LIMPs are reviewed regularly to ensure they are accurate and relevant. Communities can invite council to meet with them to discuss the need for a LIMP plan and facilitate community discussion.

LIMPs are issued to all households, displayed in district facilities and posted on Council's Emergency Management plans web page. If you would like more information on creating a Local Incident Management Plan contact (03) 51539500 or feedback@egipps.vic.gov.au.
