'Positive Ageing Festival' with exciting free activities and events for Latrobe senior community on 6 October 2022
Latrobe City Council is introducing a Positive Ageing Festival this October, bringing a host of free local events and activities for members of the community aged 55 and over.
The month-long celebration offers lots of opportunities for fun and the chance to try something new in a friendly atmosphere. The Positive Ageing Festival forms part of the broader Victorian Seniors Festival, which has been a much-loved part of the local social calendar for many years. This year's program of events has been developed with accessibility and social connection in mind, helping to support community health and wellbeing.

Mayor of Latrobe City Cr Kellie O'Callaghan invited the community to be part of the Festival. "We're excited to welcome our community to the Positive Ageing Festival this October, with exciting free activities and events throughout the municipality. Latrobe City Council is committed to supporting our community members as they age by creating opportunities to respect, consider and plan for their needs to age positively."
"The Festival is an important part of this work, and we look forward to building it up over the coming years in collaboration with our Positive Ageing Community Engagement Group, who generously share their lived experiences and advice with us," said the Mayor.
Some events and activities require bookings, community members are encouraged to check each event listing and get in early to avoid disappointment. A full program of events, along with a list of participating businesses, can be found on the Latrobe City Council website at the Positive Ageing Festival page.
