Youth infrastructure improvements
The draft Plan will assist Council to improve existing facilities, seek appropriate funding opportunities for identified projects and make informed decisions around planning and delivery of youth recreation infrastructure.
Actions and priorities outlined within the draft Plan are based on an assessment and review of Youth Infrastructure undertaken by Gippsport in 2023. Gippsport have been working with young people aged 25 and under, through their 'Future Healthy' initiative launched in 2021, including those who face significant barriers. The draft Plan provides a mixture of facilities throughout Latrobe City, including in the city's smaller townships.

Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe, said the draft Youth Infrastructure Plan will give young people a voice about how they use outdoor facilities and what they would like access to.
"In developing the draft Plan, Council has considered current facilities, economic feasibility and community involvement in facility development and management. I encourage young people to check out the Draft Youth Infrastructure Plan and have their say on how they use outdoor facilities in Latrobe City," said the Mayor.
