Future Wellington Community feedback shapes draft plans, final input invited before 16 July 2025
The four key strategic documents are now complete and available for feedback until 16 July 2025, giving the community an opportunity to see what is planned for the future direction of Wellington Shire.
The draft documents have been informed by an extensive community engagement process, well-known to the local community as Future Wellington, which took place between July 2024 and March 2025. Through surveys, competitions, in-person workshops and postcards, over 1,900 responses were received, ensuring the plans reflect the diverse voices and priorities of our municipality.

In addition, council used a deliberative engagement process to guide council's directions and priorities which included the establishment of the Future Wellington Think Tank. Wellington Shire Council Mayor Scott Rossetti described the Plans as grounded in real feedback from the community and extended his appreciation to all stakeholders that contributed to the Future Wellington process.
"Specifically, I'd like to thank our Future Wellington Think Tank participants, who came together in person earlier this year to share their thoughts and better inform council's direction. By including a broad range of community perspectives, council believes these Plans will benefit all walks of life in Wellington for years to come," Cr Rossetti said.
The Council Plan 2025-29, Financial Plan, Asset Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan - Live Well in Wellington work together with the new Community Vision 2041 to guide council's priorities and decision-making over the next four years. Council is now returning to the community for final input to ensure the plans truly reflect what matters most to Wellington residents.
