Gippsland Ports seeks input on Local Port Area Plan for Port Welshpool Harbour by 12 May 2023
Gippsland Ports seeks input from Port Welshpool Harbour users to develop a plan guiding port operations and infrastructure, aligning with the Sustainable Local Ports Framework.
Gippsland Ports is developing a Local Port Area Plan for the Port Welshpool Harbour which will guide port operations and provide, develop, and maintain port facilities needed to support those operations. This plan for the Port Welshpool Harbour will feed into the Victorian government's Sustainable Local Ports Framework which guides investment priorities for local port infrastructure.

Opportunities for the harbour
Gippsland Ports wants to hear from people who use the facilities and have a connection with Port Welshpool Harbour to understand current and future uses, issues and challenges, user needs, and opportunities for the Harbour including:
- What facilities or features of the harbour precinct are most important?
- What works well now?
- What could be improved?
- What are the future needs for the precinct?
Following the initial stakeholder engagement process, including a review of asset condition and consideration of port safety environmental and climate change implications, a Draft Local Port Area Plan for the Harbour will be developed.
Information and feedback
Gippsland Ports will provide the Draft and key engagement outcomes to stakeholders and the broader community via the Engage Victoria platform to seek any further feedback on the plan. Further information and feedback opportunities are detailed in the below Information Sheet and Feedback Form:
Gippsland Ports invites all users and others with an interest in the future of the Harbour to provide feedback through engagement sessions, or to feedback@gippslandports.vic.gov.au.
