Mirboo North and Morwell residents to conserve water until further notice from Gippsland Water while recovering from wild storms
Due to network damage from recent wild weather, Gippsland Water urges water conservation in Mirboo North and Morwell. Free bottled water available. Phone lines down; contact via email.
Gippsland Water is asking customers in Mirboo North to conserve water until further notice. Crews have been responding overnight to damage across the network caused by yesterday's wild weather, compounded by power outages, fallen trees and communications outages. Treated water storages were depleted overnight and will need time to recover.
Customers can be reassured that Morwell water is safe to drink. If you have low pressure or no water, free bottled water is available. Note: the location has moved to Mirboo North Community Foundation, 96 Ridge Way, Mirboo North
Water supply update
Customers can be reassured their water is still safe to drink. Free bottled water will be available at the carpark on the corner of Bath's Rd and Strzelecki Highway, Mirboo North from 6:30am on Wednesday 14 February. Entry is via Bath's Rd only. Gippsland Water's phone lines are also currently down due to network outages. Gippsland Water is urging customers in Morwell to conserve water until further notice.
This is due to power outages which are impacting the Morwell water treatment plant capabilities. Gippsland Water is aware of customers experiencing low water pressure or no water andis working to restore levels. Customers can be reassured their water is safe to drink.
