Baw Baw Shire Council is inviting the community to help shape the future of the much-loved Craig Watts Park playground, Neerim South, by having their say on two exciting new concept designs. After more than 20 years of service, the playground has reached the end of its lifecycle and is due for an upgrade through council's annual Playground Renewal Program.

Playground future vision
This year, the focus is on delivering a refreshed and engaging space for families, children, and visitors in Neerim South. Deputy Mayor Cr Tricia Jones encouraged the community to get involved and share their thoughts.
"This playground has been a central part of the Neerim South community for generations. We want to make sure the future playground reflects what local families and children really want and need. Your input will help us create a space that's not only fun and safe, but also loved for many years to come," Cr Jones said.
Playground concept feedback
As part of the project's early engagement phase, council officers visited Neerim South Primary School in Term 1 to gather ideas from 60 local students. Their feedback has been incorporated into two draft concept designs, which are now available for broader community input.
Council is seeking feedback from residents of all ages on their preferred concept and the types of equipment they would like to see included in the final design. Community input will be considered within the project's available budget.
Community consultation is now open until 5pm on Friday 13 June. To view the concept designs and have your say, your way, visit council's online engagement platform - Baw Baw Connect website.
