Enhancing the infrastructure
Following the successful works to date at Lindsey Close, including bulk excavation and installation of emergency storage tanks, gravity sewer and pumping station, we are excited to officially kick off the project at our Veronica Street site this week. We have had no interruptions to service so far, and we extend our gratitude to the community for their patience during this process.
According to Robert Murphy, Managing Director of South Gippsland Water this upgrade, which includes two new pump stations, is a significant investment in Inverloch and will make a real difference to the town's systems. "We are committed to enhancing the infrastructure of Inverloch to meet the needs of its growing population."
"Over the next months, our contractor, Delplant, will first install the new pumping station near the current one and then install connecting sewer pipelines. You may notice construction equipment and vehicles and observe our groundwater pumping to stabilise the excavation. While this phase may involve some noise and vibrations, we assure residents that we will strictly operate between 7 am and 4 pm, with no works scheduled for weekends or public holidays" he said.
Enquiries and information
To ensure effective communication with our valued neighbours, we will continue to provide regular updates through door-knocks and letter drops. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the community during the construction period. For customers who wish to stay informed about community consultation and the upcoming revegetation process, please email media@sgwater.com.au to be placed on the revegetation registrar.
