Extended the deadline for nominations to recognise local heroes in the 2022 Australia Day Awards until midnight on 7 November.
Wellington Shire Council has extended the deadline for nominations to recognise local heroes in the 2022 Australia Day Awards until midnight on 7 November. Council is encouraging nominations for individuals and community groups which are working hard to make Wellington a better place to live and improve the lives of residents.
Our communities are filled with hard working locals who continue to show up and offer a helping hand, simply to make the lives of others better, please help us by nominating someone deserving for a 2022 Australia Day Award
Opportunity for the community
The awards are an opportunity for the community to thank those making an important contribution, especially people working tirelessly behind the scenes who otherwise might go unrecognised. This includes people in the fields of arts, sport, education, environment, health, community welfare or charity.
Nominations are open for Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year and Covid Hero. The awards will be announced at a special luncheon event in December.
Visit the Wellington Shire Australia Day Awards to nominate someone before 7 November.
