Community invited to online briefing on Warragul and Drouin preferred neighbourhood character design guidelines
Online open community briefing will be held by the council to present councillors and the community with the draft design guidelines that are proposed to define overall township character and inform planning for future developments.
Council is holding an online Open Community Briefing on Wednesday 8 September at 3:30pm about the draft Warragul and Drouin Preferred Neighbourhood Character Design Guidelines. The purpose of this information session is to present Councillors and the community with the draft Design Guidelines that are proposed to define overall township character and inform planning for future developments in Warragul and Drouin.
Whether you live in a newer area of Drouin or Warragul, or one that's been established for decades, the council like to hear from you of what kind of residential development you would like to see in your neighbourhood
Maintaining the neighbourhood character
Mayor Cr Danny Goss said, "Baw Baw Shire is one of the fastest growing areas in the State. Neighbourhood character is vitally important to so many residents and much has been lost already. We need to make sure we maintain the neighbourhood character of our townships as well as accommodating growth.
Speak up now and have your say
What do you want to see our towns look like? People need to speak up now and have their say. These guidelines will shape the way Warragul and Drouin will look forever. We need to hear from our community and gather their feedback on the proposed designs. Interested community members should write to us or go online and make a submission ahead of the open briefing. Your views are needed - before it's too late!"
Community members interested in making a submission for this briefing are invited to do so between:
- 1:00pm Friday 3 September 2021
- 5.30pm Monday 6 September 2021
The online submission form is on the council's submission website. To tune in to the livestreamed briefing, please go to Agendas and Minutes.
