Have your say on South Gippsland's Draft Road Management Plan to help shape reliable infrastructure by 13 July 2025
South Gippsland Shire Council is seeking feedback on its Draft Road Management Plan, outlining updated standards, responsibilities, and inspection schedules for maintaining safe, accessible roads and footpaths across the municipality.
Give your feedback on council's review of the Plan. South Gippsland Shire Council is reviewing its Road Management Plan (RMP), which outlines how we manage and maintain our local road and associated road asset network to ensure it remains safe, accessible, and fit for purpose.
Following a council election, the Draft Road Management Plan is reviewed and updated to reflect legislation and best practice. Feedback is open until Sunday 13 July 2025

Our municipality includes over 2,100 kilometres of roads and 131 kilometres of footpaths. The Draft Road Management Plan defines council's responsibilities, sets maintenance standards, and outlines inspection time frames, helping us manage risk and deliver a consistent, transparent approach to maintaining public infrastructure.
The Draft Road Management Plan must be reviewed following each council election. This Draft Plan reflects a comprehensive internal review and incorporates updates aligned with current legislation and industry best practice. The following documents are available for review:
