Locals and recreation reserve users in Darnum, Longwarry, Thorpdale, and Willow Grove are invited to assist Baw Baw Shire Council in updating Master Plans. Feedback on draft plans is encouraged before council's finalisation.
All locals and users of the recreation reserves at Darnum, Longwarry, Thorpdale and Willow Grove are invited to help Baw Baw Shire Council update the Master Plans for each location. Council is currently reviewing and updating the four existing Crown Recreation Reserve Masterplans to make sure that they are up-to-date and ready to meet the changing needs and expectations of clubs, the broader community and council.
Provide your feedback on the draft updated Master Plan for Darnum recreation reserve, Longwarry recreation reserve, Thorpdale recreation reserve and Willow Grove recreation reserve until 23 November 2023

As a first step to reviewing the plans, council undertook targeted workshops and direct consultation with user groups at each of the reserves between June and August 2023. Using the detailed input from those groups, updated draft Master Plans have been prepared and and are now freely available to the public for review and feedback before they are finalised and adopted by council.
To review the plans, provide feedback and sign up to receive project updates, visit Crown Reserve Masterplans page. There you will find:
- draft Master Plans in full (as well as individual maps)
- Surveys for each of the four sites
- Ideas board to gather community thoughts
- Answers to frequently asked questions
- Clear project timelines and more
"These Master Plans are important because they establish a clear direction for the future planning, provision and enhancement of sport and community infrastructure. They are essential for attracting grant funding from both the State and Federal governments to deliver the facilities our community needs," says Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Annemarie McCabe.
"On behalf of council, I'd like to thank the local clubs and user groups for their input into the process so far, and to invite the wider community to take advantage of this opportunity to give the plans a good look and let us know if we've got them right," Ms McCabe said. Community feedback will be accepted until Thursday 23 November 2023 via Your Say, Your Way! website.
