Book readers in Wellington Shire invited to share reading experiences online via Zoom event
Online sharing of reading experiences to share with other participants.
Book readers across Wellington Shire are invited to listen and share stories with other Victorians about their reading experiences in an online Zoom event in September. The online event Victoria Reads: Stories that Matter is presented by Public Libraries Victoria and will virtually connect the state's public libraries.
Join us online for a chatty evening about the reading lives of some of Victoria's most treasured personalities: Christian White, Nazeem Hussain, Tony Birch and Alice Pung, hosted by Claire Hooper and Paul Kennedy
Reading books can change lives
Hosts Claire Hooper and Paul Kennedy will be joined by comedian Nazeem Hussein and authors Christian White, Tony Birch and Alice Pung to talk about their reading lives during the event on Tuesday 14 September. The guests will talk about books that have changed their lives and made them smile, and books they would take into outer space.
The event celebrates Australian Reading Hour, presented by Australia Reads, a book industry collaboration of authors, booksellers, libraries and publishers who champion and promote the many mental health and lifestyle benefits of reading.
The book reading initiative is also aimed at encouraging the next generation of avid book readers to significantly increase book reading by all Australians, no matter the format they read.
Victoria Reads: Stories that Matter will be held on Tuesday 14 September from 7pm to 8.30pm. Attendees must book for the online Zoom event at libraries and books change lives.
